THE CHURCH AT WORK

Gen. 2:15; Rev. 2:19

Idleness not an original trait of men, God worked and we must work. The church must work - James 2:24.

1. THE CHURCH AT WORK - INTER-CONGREGATIONALLY.
   1. Co-operative support of the gospel - 1 Cor. 8:11; Gal. 2:9.
   2. Combined effort--Christ's kingdom greater than the Local congregation - Acts 2:29; Rom. 15:25.
   3. Sustenance space is the world and not local bounds.
2. THE CHURCH AT WORK LOCALLY - AS A CONGREGATION.
   1. Oversight-Elders may produce non-workers.
   2. Deacons dwarfed, song leaders and teachers with no vision.
   3. Preacher working 24 hrs a day but not working the church.
   4. Sardis was dead--with a big name --works imperfect.
3. THE CHURCH AT WORK IS A "BODY" AT WORK - 1 Cor. 12.
   1. Busybodies--the Devil's workshop - not working - 2 Thess. 3:11.
   2. Are we standing on the promises or setting on our blessed assurances.
   3. Storage seed will not germinate - Luke 8:11.
   4. Jesus prayed for workers--no non-workers; Matt. 9:37-38.
4. PERSONAL WORK OF BODY MEMBERS--THE CHURCH AT WORK - ACTUAL.
   1. Gal.6:10 - we have opportunity.
   2. Blinded by tradition of the Father - Mk. 7:9; Matt. 15:2.
   3. We should wake out of sleep - Rom. 13:11-14.
   4. We should find ourselves: Do it well.
5. VISION IS ESSENTIAL - PROVERBS 1--MEDITATION.
   1. Elders to set the pace--planned achievement.
      1. Not every elder need be responsible for all.
      2. Planned grouping of membership --accountable.
      3. Support is relative to the vision and need.
   2. Preachers should hammer on vision and the peoples eyes will be opened.
   3. Deacons will have plenty to do in a working church.
6. SOCIAL REFORMATION IS NEEDED CAN SEGREGATE.
   1. Work is by contact not paper theories.
   2. Contact the sinner through all scriptural means.
      1. Polite social conversation - John 4.
      2. Tracts.
      3. Radio and the Press.
      4. Care for orphans, aged and sick - Jas. 1:27.
7. PUT OUR MONEY TO WORK - James 5:1-4.
