THE PREMILLENNIAL MISTAKE
Some of the major teachings that are being proclaimed by those who advocate the premillennial doctrine are the following:
- Christ Is not reigning now, but will reign during the one thousand year period.
- Jesus will reign on this literal earth.
- The duration of this reign will be a thousand years.
- Christ Is not now reigning on David's throne, but will reign on his literal throne In Jerusalem In Palestine during the millennium.
- The Jewish temple will be rebuilt in Jerusalem to fulfill the Old Testament prophecies concerning its reconstruction.
- Israel - fleshy descendants of Abraham through Jacob - will be nationally converted and restored to the land of Palestine.
- The "lost ten tribes" or the northern kingdom of Israel in the Old Testament, will be gathered out of the nations of the world when Jesus comes to establish His earthy reign.
- Christ intended to establish His kingdom when He came to earth the first time, but the Jews rejected Him. God then "postponed" the kingdom until a later date and established the church In Its place.
- The righteous dead will be raised at the beginning of the millennium and the wicked will be raised at the close. There will be two resurrections one thousand years apart.
- We are not in the last dispensation of time or "lost days" upon this earth. The thousand year reign of Christ will be the last days and will finalize events here on earth.
These are some of the key concepts propagated by those who herald the millennial reign of Christ. Premillennialism is not a new doctrine but It has been revived by modern day prophets who find it fascinating to count wars and rumors of wars.
- Jesus said there would be "SIGN-SEEKERS." Matt 24:23,36,39,44.
- But Jesus said instead of looking for "SIGNS" we need to "BE PREPARED." I Thess. 5:1, 6. Times and seasons are not as Important as being prepared daily for the coming of Christ.
- Jesus said watch for "FALSE PROPHETS." 2 Pet 3:15, 16; 2:1, 2; 1 John 4:1.
CONCLUSION: Jesus still says: Mk 13:32. "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man..." The Bible gives us no signs of preparation for the second coming of Christ. We must always be prepared. We must not be led away by those who say they have the time of Christ's second coming all figured out.
